OVERVIEW
Nuuvia is a B2B2C Youth Banking platform embedded within Financial Institutions' online banking ecosystems.
Nuuvia serves banks and credit unions aiming to build lifelong relationships with younger customers. Children earn monetary incentives by completing tasks and jobs, growing savings accounts from an early age while parents guide behavior. This early trust increases retention as users transition into adult banking products.
BUSINESS NEED
The original design architecture could not support expanding use cases across youth, parent, and senior banking.
A long-term scalable solution required strong, reusable design foundations.
THE PROBLEM
While financial institutions were satisfied, customer outcomes told a different story. We saw low MoM retention and limited post-registration engagement. This highlighted a gap between business success and user value. We needed to define and execute a strategy that fit both Financial Institution and the end users.
IMPACT

OLD DESIGNS
The original designs were created in 2018 within a .NET ASP framework by software engineers for internal use, and were not built for scalability in mind. While the designs were sufficient to demonstrate capability and functionality to financial institutions, they were not suited for sustained engagement by the end users.
"We cannot revamp the whole product. We need to ensure the new version is stable with the old back-end which is connected with individual client's database with different fields"
HOW CAN WE
Deliver an improved User Experience without adding any functionality?
To make sure that the end users are engaging with the product and are forming healthy financial habits.
HOW CAN WE
The product stays upto the current market trends in design without affecting experience shift?
To ensure experiential continuity and preserve Nuuvia’s core interaction patterns preventing abrupt shifts in look and feel for existing users.
PHASE 1: UI REFRESH (NUU 2.0)
Improved Onboarding Experience for Clients.
I decomposed 144 design configuration items into just 3.
This increased implementation efficiency by avg 90%.
This allowed us to onboard clients faster.
4-6 Weeks to 3-4 Days.
Efficiency Increase
~90%
Implementation Time Reduced

ADVANTAGE
Through this design system I was able to present customized demos of the whole product with prototypes and variable modes for potential clients.
SEE HOW QUICK IT IS!
This is just an idea with dummy variables to show the process.
PHASE 2: FEATURE EXTENSIONS
While the demos happening, something more was cooking.
I wanted to ensure all the features on the product were fully operational which formed the foundation of scalable designs.
Opportunities for Improvement
I used the "I have" and "I wish" boards (not exhaustive) to scope incremental value without adding more WRITE queries on database ^_^
Improved Workflows
PHASE 3: THE DESIGNS.
I used Figma Make + Lovable to explore initial ideas of implementing these functions and tested out few concepts. The whole design ecosystem lived on Figma which make it easier to use plug-ins to import frames across these platforms.

EXAMPLE PROMPT
"Design a Review Requests page for a youth banking app where a parent can clearly approve or reject requests submitted by a child, including both tasks, loan requests and grade card requests. The page should be scoped to a specific child and present requests as a clear, scannable list with key details surfaced upfront (type, amount, due date, and status). Rejection should intentionally require a short note to provide context and guidance. The overall flow should support parental oversight without friction, using clear hierarchy and decisive actions that align with existing product patterns. Reference frame attached."
RESULT
The initial UI baseline generated by Figma Make provided a creative starting point but lacked the structural logic required for our 3-week shipping window. The AI-generated layout utilized non-standard spacing and complex, nested layers that would have necessitated extensive custom CSS and increased. development time. I audited the generated design and swapped out custom elements for standardized components from our existing library. This pivot not only guaranteed a cohesive aesthetic but also drastically reduced implementation friction, allowing the engineering team to focus on functionality rather than pixel-pushing.
HIGH FIDELITY DESIGNS
Product Enhancements
A good UX is invisible. I made silent UI changes that improved the experience significantly. It is fascinating really to see the power of organization.
